    "Shakti" Within

Its International Women’s Day on the 8th of March.

Indian mythology refers to woman as Shakti. Shakti, means “power” or “empowerment”. Shakti is responsible for both creation and change. Shakti is cosmic existence, as well as liberation.

We get to see these qualities in many women around us- at home and at work. At home, our Mothers are the greatest example of this Shakti and we all have seen this power translate into love, care, perseverance, faith, hope, trust and so on.

In recent times, the Corporate World has also seen a surge in the number of Women Achievers who have utilized this same Shakti, to transform businesses and make them successful.

They have entered the boardrooms, crashing the glass ceiling and personifying this Shakti/Power, to attain newer heights . A few names that come to our mind are :- Chanda Kochhar – MD and CEO at ICICI Bank, Kalpana Morparia, CEO of South Asia at JPMorgan Chase & Co., Shikha Sharma – CEO AXIS Bank, Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, Chairman & MD of Biocon, Arundhati Bhattacharya – Chairman, State Bank of India., Medha Patkar – Social activist, Bachendri Pal- conquered Mt. Everest.

Below are seven actions that she recommends which could help all of us to lead a purposeful life :

    • Unleash your ambition
    • Recognise your value
    • Don’t lead from the crowd
    • Be willing to rock the boat
    • Don’t hesitate to advocate for yourself
    • Refuse to tolerate the intolerable
    • Embrace risks as crucial to your success

The universe has given us the power to do so and we realise this immense power in our lives in some way or the other.

So this March 8th, let’s be aware of the Shakti within us and unleash the power and transform this potential into SUCCESS!

    Let’s do it!
