    REACHING OUT!

    Hello, Friends!

We would like to build ahead on our last month’s newsletter on Samwad- reiterating the importance of conversations in our lives.

Today technology has made it possible to reach out and stay connected, with anyone around the world, in any time zone and at any location using, Facetime or Skype or Whatsapp. We have grown closer “virtually” and easily say ‘ you can reach me at any time”. But the question is “are we able to reach out”????

Lately, people use “reaching out”, to simply mean contacting someone you either don’t know, or haven’t talked to, in a while. The old meaning of reach out – “I am here for you”, has been lost. Its beautifully represented in the verses of the song Reach Out (I’ll be There).

“When you feel lost and about to give up ,

Cause your life just ain’t good enough

And you feel the world has grown cold

And your drifting out all on your own

And you need a hand to hold, darling

reach out come on girl reach out for me

reach out reach out for me”

Even in our digital age, when we measure communications in bytes and characters rather than pages and paragraphs, reaching out is important. People come into our lives for a reason, for a season or for a lifetime!

This reaching out, has become a cliched phrase even in the Corporate world. In a world where cut-throat competition is the order of the day and numbers play a vital role in shaping the future, it is no secret that, employees are facing mounting pressure to excel. In such a world, the phrase “reach out” has lost its deeper meaning.

Many a times all we really need is a kind smile or a “how are you?” that is backed with interest, or just to be noticed. It makes us feel good or valued. We all have wonderful people in our life who walk into our lives and we don’t realise it. We often ignore and at times, take them for granted and forget that , each relationship needs to be maintained. The thought of making connections can seem daunting,

    It’s nice to be acknowledged, to feel like people have a genuine interest in you. Reaching out gives you the opportunity, to experience all of this, as well as to build, meaningful relationships with people, that you otherwise might’ve never met. Too often we underestimate the power of;

    a touch,
    a smile,
    a kind word,
    a listening ear,
    an honest compliment,
    the smallest act of caring,

All of which have the potential, to turn a life around!

So Reach Out to People. If YOU make an effort to reach out, most people are eager to reciprocate.
